The RP Process

An RP model starts with a sketch...
... that is put into a 3D CAD model...
..and then made into a plastic RP model.

DTIsm uses the Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) system for Rapid Prototyping (RP) your idea into an ABS plastic model. Sometimes called 3D printing, RP is a tool that brings new ideas from your mind into the world quicker and cheaper than conventional prototyping needs.

Uses for RP models include:

- Design team communication during product development

- Concept models for marketing surveys

- Testing product design form, fit and function

- Plugs for creating casting molds

Cost Comparison:

Typically, parts built using RP technology cost about 20-30% less than the cost of conventional machining and take hours instead of days to build.
